What our staff say:

The opportunities for teaching and learning that are run by Nicky are always excellent. I have always been inspired by her commitment to sharing best practice. I have also been given the opportunity to develop myself through leadership pathways and NPQML courses.

- Quote from Ashfield School's Employee Survey 2019

The team that I work with are brilliant and in general always want to do everything they can to support each and every child and each other. I think this is reflected more widely in the school with the Head who leads by example and who is approachable and appreciates when we work hard and go the extra mile. The school is generally a very caring place to work.

- Quote from Ashfield School's Employee Survey 2019

The supportive, positive ethos at Ashfield school. Teaching is a difficult and time-consuming job and added unnecessary pressures seen in other schools are not conducive to good staff morale. I like that I feel that the school is positive and supportive in allowing us to get on with our job in the best way to enable pupils to reach their potential.

- Quote from Ashfield School's Employee Survey 2019

We have smashing students here at Ashfield. Honest, Polite and will work hard for you if you work hard for them. Our Head Teacher is excellent and I trust him to do the best by me as an employee. He is fully aware of the staff who are working well and is working to establish a new culture which I welcome. I believe Ashfield will go from strength to strength. I work in a very supportive faculty where good practice is shared regularly. Behaviour both positive and negative are addressed and dealt with accordingly. It's great being part of a sociable and happy team

- Quote from Ashfield School's Employee Survey 2019

I love my school, there are so many fantastic staff and pupils and I think we are treated incredibly generously. We have more free time to plan and mark than any other teaching staff I know at other schools and we are up to date with things such as modern marking policies. Senior leadership are fair and consistent in their messages, I do not feel I'm ever asked to do something I'm not happy to do and I'm offered lots of opportunities to further myself and am supported in any issues with pupils. I'm happy to come to work everyday here - it's a really friendly, well run school.

All employees at Ashfield are fully supported to develop professionally. Our in-house professional development programme is a particular strength. Whilst our website gives you a flavour of the outstanding facilities on offer, a visit to the school is recommended for prospective applicants to appreciate its unique qualities and vibrant atmosphere.

As Ofsted reported in November 2021, students and staff share ‘very high expectations’ of each other, behaviour is ‘very good’ and the vision for the school is ‘shared by everyone’, including our very supportive parent body; ‘To support and challenge all learners to fulfil their potential.’

I look forward to presenting our wonderful school to prospective applicants who would like to be part of building a successful future for our friendly and fantastic students.
