Maternity Cover from September 2022 to December 2022 - One Term Contract

Smithills School is seeking to appoint an experienced, enthusiastic, highly motivated and inspirational teacher to join our team. This post is suitable for an experienced or newly qualified teacher wishing to join a team of specialists who ensure a high standard of teaching, learning and achievement. 

Both subjects are popular options choices at KS4 and you will be responsible for preparing students for, and assessing, all components within each qualification. 

The candidate will have knowledge and experience of Level 2 BTEC Tech Award Health and Social Care and Child Development. Experience of the standards verification process and/or knowledge of BTEC documentation would be an advantage. 

Interested candidates will have:

• QTS 

• the ability to teach, deliver and assess Level 2 BTEC Tech Award Health and Social Care and Child Development and at KS3/KS4

• the ability to contribute to an extensive extra-curricular programme

• the ability to plan and deliver high quality lessons

• the ability to motivate and achieve excellent results

• excellent organisational skills and an appreciation of your subject/s

• the ability to form positive working relationships with staff and pupils

Smithills School is a mixed, non-selective, non-denominational secondary school situated in Bolton, Lancashire. There are approximately 1200 students at the school, between the ages of 11-16.
