Our Values Driven Expectations behaviour management model ensures that all learners are well focussed and that there is no low level disruption in lessons; this allows you to concentrate on leading high quality teaching to inspire your learners. Cutting edge data management processes also mean that key data is provided from the centre for you, freeing up your time to act on key information to accelerate learners’ progress.

A common and extensive programme of staff development operates across the Trust, this is extended to senior and middle leaders, aspiring leaders, teaching and support staff and non-qualified teachers.

Beacon Hill is located in Woodsetton to the east of Sedgley. It is the largest of the academies in Dudley Academies Trust, with over 1,000 learners on roll. It recruits at capacity in Year 7 and draws pupils from a large number of different primary schools in a highly populated area.

As a larger school, Beacon Hill is able to offer a very broad curriculum and has a large number of staff working in learner support and the broad pastoral care system. The academy has seen a continuous trajectory of improvement in GCSE Progress 8 scores from 2019 onwards. Beacon Hill has been named as one of the provisionally prioritised schools for the government’s School Rebuild Programme announced in December 2022.

Like all of the schools within Dudley Academies Trust, Beacon Hill Academy benefits from a comprehensive range of support from the Trust’s Central Team, covering everything from Teaching & Learning to Estates Management, IT, Safeguarding and Staff Development.
