Full time or Part time (0.6- 1.0) maternity cover from 16/04/2018 up to 31/12/2018 

An exciting opportunity has arisen to become part of a successful team at one of the country’s top sixth form colleges. Hereford Sixth Form College has over 2100 full-time 16-19 students and an excellent reputation for its results and extra-curricular provision.  Rated Ofsted outstanding in 2007; the College consistently achieves one of the highest Advanced Level points scores per entry of over 100 SFC’s nationally and has outstanding value added results as measured by both the ALIS and ALPS systems.  

Health & Social Care is a large department in this highly successful Sixth Form College.  There are currently 5 first year and 5 second year mixed ability BTEC and A level groups, following the Pearson and AQA specification. GCSE Health and Social Care is offered and also follows the AQA syllabus.    This post provides an excellent opportunity for a suitably qualified person to join a team of four experienced Health & Social Care teachers. Examination and coursework results have been consistently outstanding, both in raw and value added terms.   

Teachers in the Health & Social Care Department work closely together following a common programme and using a variety of methods. The department is well resourced and the use of IT is being developed. Emphasis is placed on providing a supportive working environment for teachers, liaising over schemes of work and sharing good practice.   

We are seeking a newly qualified or experienced teacher with experience of teaching Health and Social Care. You should be committed, enthusiastic and enjoy a challenge.  You will be prepared to work hard within the team and be ambitious both on a personal level and for the department.  The ability to motivate students and a good sense of humour is vital. 

A satisfactory enhanced DBS disclosure is required.
