Are you looking for an innovative school that blends academic learning with real world education? Are you a passionate educator who can convey complex theories and topics in relevant ways to young people? Are you interested in collaborating with world-class partners? Are you interested in working for a trust where everyone is included in professional development opportunities?

We might have the role for you…

The Role

We are looking for a knowledgeable and enthusiastic Health and Social Care teacher to join our innovative, forward-thinking school. The successful candidate will work with our existing staff and partners to deliver strong academic results combined with exciting real world learning.

What we’re looking for

You must be committed to achieving the best possible outcomes for all young people and to valuing every individual equally.

Experience teaching Health and Social Care at KS4 and KS5 in a school setting is strongly desirable, as is a degree in a related subject.

We recognise and value continued professional development, so a wide range of training opportunities will be made available throughout your career with us.

The School

Mulberry UTC has gone from strength to strength since opening in September 2017 and the school's Sixth Form is now significantly over-subscribed.

Health and Social Care is one of our most successful and high-achieving subject areas. Our HSC students benefit from a state of the art, hospital ward and a care suite, where they gain hands-on experience of working in health and care settings. They also complete work experience with our partners from Barts Health NHS Trust.

We offer a supportive staff team, a state of the art building, opportunities for career progression and students who are genuinely interested, engaged and highly motivated.

Located in Bow, in the heart of east London, we value the skills and talents of all members of our diverse school community. We believe it is a privilege to be able to make a difference to the life chances of the young people we serve. We are looking for someone who can bring out the best in every learner, regardless of their circumstances.

We are passionate about the importance of academic, technical and vocational learning. Our students excel in their GCSE, A-level, technical and vocational courses because of the great teaching and support they receive from our excellent staff team. Our brand new building provides students access to world class equipment and facilities.

Our Partners

We want our students to have access to the same professional connections which young people from more privileged backgrounds can utilise. To make this a reality we have a wide range external partners in higher education, business, industry, the arts and the sciences who contribute extensively to our school.

We are proud to inspire our students through diverse and representative teams and welcome applications from all parts of the communities we serve. If you have the experience and passion needed to energise Tower Hamlets' next generation of leaders, creators and innovators, we would like to hear from you!

We are supportive of flexible working and welcome applications from colleagues who wish to work part-time.

All applications should be made via the TES.

Closing date: 5pm, Monday 5th June.

Start date: 1 September 2023

Mulberry UTC is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and we expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
