Due to an increasing demand in pupil numbers and the growing success of Thomas Becket Catholic School, the Directors of this successful, up and coming Catholic Secondary School wish to appoint a Teacher of Health and Social September 2021 but with possibility of  discussion for an earlier start. NQTs will be considered.

As a result of our growing success and demand we are increasing the size of our cohort and are looking for committed and passionate teachers to join us on our journey. We have a highly committed, collaborative and determined staff who are focussed on enabling our children to achieve excellence. With high behavioural standards underpinned by loving/caring relationships we are building a truly extraordinary school. We are looking for extraordinary professionals to join us on our journey.

In a survey this year 100% of staff advised that they believed in the leadership and direction of the school. We have a fantastic commitment to professional development and believe that the right person can make a real difference. Each week we spend an hour and a half on professional development through energetic pedagogy driven sessions, breakouts, coaching and other professional activities. With an abundance of leadership opportunities in a growing and improving school this is a great time to join the school.

Visits to the school are welcomed with the opportunity to see the school, and meet the Head, recommended. All visits will follow appropriate health and safety guidelines. Thomas Becket Catholic School is a mixed Roman Catholic secondary school for 11- to 18-year-olds in Northampton. There are currently around 846 students in attendance. The sixth form offers pupils the chance to study AS, A-Level and BTEC qualifications.

Thomas Becket Catholic School achieved its best ever exam results at GCSE and A-Level in 2016, making it one of the top co-educational schools in Northampton.

Values and vision

The core values of Thomas Becket Catholic School focus on the personal development of individual pupils. The school community actively encourages prayer and challenges students to grow in their faith while valuing justice, respect and compassion.

Physical education is an integral part of the curriculum at the secondary school. Pupils are encouraged to play sport to help develop leadership skills, maintain fitness and increase confidence and self-esteem.
