Manor School

Manor School is a heavily over-subscribed and growing community 11 - 18 secondary academy serving the town of Raunds in East Northamptonshire. We are proud to be part of the Nene Education Trust.

Manor School converted to academy status in 2011. It was identified as a 'good' school by Ofsted in March 2020. Inspectors recognised our inclusivity and acknowledged that the school has a “well-thought-out and ambitious academic and vocational curriculum for all” that offers students a broad and balanced range of subjects at all Key Stages.

Our mission statement is 'Success for All' and this applies to both students and staff. At Manor School we aim to foster an atmosphere of success where all students are offered opportunities to raise aspirations and develop their own character within a positive environment. We build and nurture courageous, kind and thoughtful citizens of the future – a future that we can be certain is uncertain!

Given our awareness of our context, the curriculum drivers at our school and across our Trust are Work. World. Wellness. These drivers were developed following wide consultation with the students, parents, staff and the community to ensure that we are meeting the needs of our students.  We have a clear framework of expectations for teaching and learning which we refer to as centralised pedagogies.

Most significantly, at Manor School we know that we are responsible for education in its widest sense. We encourage and support students to be innovative and creative, to set the bar high in order to excel both academically and in developing the personal characteristics and cultural capital required to be outstanding young adults.

Values and vision

The values at Manor School are REACH: Resilience, Empathy, Aspiration, Curiosity, Humanity and these are actively promoted at every opportunity. Our vision is driven by our values and a belief that we should be preparing young people to become outstanding young adults and make a contribution to the world as global citizens, be mindful of the mental and physical health of themselves and others and be thoroughly prepared for the world of work.  In order to achieve this we focus on the interface between learning and welfare to achieve great outcomes, as well as developing personal characteristics and cultural capital through the range of experiences and enrichment opportunities we provide.
