The secondary school works to recognise the individual needs of pupils so that they can reach their potential and succeed to the highest of their ability. It is important to the school that students enjoy their time in education and that they become engaged in an interesting and varied learning curriculum, preparing them for the challenges and opportunities of a modern and ever changing society. It is vital to the school that a close partnership is formed between parents, staff and students to produce outstanding results. The school also lets out its facilities to locals and businesses in the area, recognising its role to serve the community. Students are encouraged to get involved with extra-curricular activities to expand their opportunities and gain in confidence, ranging from cooking to photography club.
Ofsted
“Teaching in the sixth form is good. Teachers have strong subject knowledge and use this to ensure learners are challenged and supported in their learning. Relationships between learners and staff are strong and lead to a purposeful and inspiring learning environment. Learners’ behaviour and attitudes to learning are exemplary.”
