Job overview
St Aloysius’ College is seeking to appoint a full time Teacher of History and Modern Studies who will inspire and motivate our pupils to ensure that they reach their full potential. The successful candidate will have a timetable of classes ranging from S1 – S6. The delivery of History will be from S1 onwards, including National 5 and Higher History. The delivery of Higher Modern Studies would also be anticipated.
The successful candidate must have the ability to plan coherent, progressive and stimulating teaching programmes matched to individual pupils’ needs; have the ability to incorporate a range of innovative and creative teaching strategies and methodology; and have experience of presentation for National Qualifications.
To comply with the new regulations under The Education (Scotland) Act 2016, all teachers who commence employment at any Scottish Independent School on or after 1 October 2017 must be registered with the General Teaching Council for Scotland (GTCS), either Provisional, Provisional (Conditional) or Full.
