THE ROLE:
We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, highly motivated and inspirational teacher to join an excellent, supportive and well-resourced department. This post is suitable for an experienced or newly qualified teacher wishing to join a team who ensure a high standard of teaching, learning and achievement.
The History Department is committed to achieving an engaging and academically enriching learning experience that delivers outstanding pupil progress. Within the department and the school there are collaborative support structures and a commitment to training and personal professional development. Data is used effectively to assess students and to set realistic and demanding targets. There is a genuine commitment to children, and to each member of the team, in an atmosphere where there are high expectations and a genuine pleasure in the job.
ABOUT YOU:
You will be a reflective practitioner who acts on feedback to improve their practice and is able and willing to share best practice with their colleagues. You will monitor and support the overall progress and development of students as a teacher and as a Form Tutor including the personal development dimension and facilitate and encourage a learning experience and environment which provides students with the opportunity to achieve their individual potential.

Smithills School is a mixed, non-selective, non-denominational secondary school situated in Bolton, Lancashire. There are approximately 1200 students at the school, between the ages of 11-16.
Smithills School converted to academy status in 2014 and is a member of the ConcertED multi-academy trust and the Bolton Learning Alliance.
