The Halifax Academy would like to appoint a Teacher of History within our Humanities faculty. Our Humanities faculty seek to provide students with the tools to navigate an increasingly globalised world. The academy’s ‘Hearts and Minds’ ethos is supported within our faculty to help our students make moral, spiritual and intellectual sense of the world. Our aim is to foster students’ curiosity in the wider world whilst learning challenging, emotive and sensitive topics. We want our students to leave our academy engaged in the global community, empowered with human approach to deal with the often turbulent world we live in. We are looking for an enthusiastic and reflective practitioner who has a passion for teaching and learning to join a highly successful faculty.

The Halifax Academy is a high performing 4-16 all-through Academy in Calderdale, West Yorkshire. It was inspected by Ofsted in September 2017 being judged as Good in all areas. Outcomes are outstanding at KS4 and places the Academy in the top 15% of all schools nationally. Early Years Provision is good.

The Academy is the founding school in Impact Education MAT and is led by Matt Perry the Headteacher.

We are looking for:

  • Experienced teachers that are proven classroom practitioners or Newly Qualified teachers with excellent initial training reports.
  • Teachers who embrace the vision and values of the Trust.
  • Teachers who have energy and can inspire confidence in students, staff and parents.
  • Teachers that have the highest expectations and are uncompromising in their ambition for students and the community we serve.
  • Teachers who take responsibility for improving their own practice.
  • Teachers ready for the challenge and excitement of working in an all-through Academy and in time, contribute to the development of the Multi Academy Trust.
