Cranbourne is a good school with a committed staff and student body, a friendly and supportive atmosphere and is rapidly moving towards “excellence in everything”. Cranbourne has a commitment to improving teaching and achievement and we encourage staff to work with a high degree of independence and creativity.

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic Teacher of History who would enjoy being part of a forward thinking and popular History Department which is part of our Humanities Faculty.  Humanities is housed in its own block and also includes Religious Studies and Geography.

The successful candidate will play a lead role in shaping teaching and learning in both key stages and inspiring students to aim high.  We are looking for someone with enthusiasm to join the team who has the drive, passion and commitment to raise the profile of the subject.

At Cranbourne we are looking for hardworking, ambitious and dynamic staff committed to excellence.  You will be a self-motivated and reflective teacher who is keen to develop further, have strong interpersonal skills and be an excellent team player.

Our teachers are offered a good range of CPL opportunities, from collaborative twilights, to conferences, staff book groups and learning lunches. We offer an excellent induction programme, an exciting learning and teaching environment and first-class on-going professional learning opportunities to further enhance your career.

This position, within a School dedicated to rapid improvement, would be an ideal next step for a History Teacher who would value first-hand experience of strongly led school improvement.    This role is perfect for a strong practitioner who wants to play an integral role in promoting History across KS3 and KS4.  History is a very popular subject in the school with multiple classes choosing to study it at KS4.

Visits to the school are warmly welcomed. Our students are our best advert.

Cranbourne and Hampshire County Council are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. We will ensure that all our recruitment and selection practices reflect this commitment. All successful candidates will be subject to Disclosure and Barring Service checks along with other relevant employment checks.
