Required for January 2019, a well-qualified, ambitious and inspirational part or full-time Teacher of History. Darrick Wood is a mixed eight-form entry outstanding school in Orpington, Kent. Having achieved the World Class Schools Quality Mark we continue to strive to provide the very best education for our pupils. As a designated Teaching School, we can provide you with a supportive teaching environment, and exciting development opportunities. The History Department is housed in dedicated classrooms in the Humanities Faculty. History is a very popular GCSE and A level subject. The School has an extensive Wi-Fi network and provides laptops for all staff.

Darrick Wood School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of its pupils.

The successful candidate will be subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure check under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974.

Darrick Wood School is a mainstream, co-educational, non-denominational secondary academy for 1700 children aged 11-18. It is situated in Orpington, Kent. In its most recent inspection by Ofsted (January 2019) the School was judged as “Good” in all areas.

The school was founded in 1975. In June 2004, it was awarded specialist status in technology. In 2010, Darrick Wood converted to academy status and a new Sixth-Form building was completed.

In 2015, the secondary school was awarded the World Class Schools quality mark.
