Teacher of History   

STARTING: January 2018  

CONTRACT: Temporary (Maternity Leave Cover) until December 2018 or the return of the substantive postholder whichever is earliest.  

SALARY: MPR/UPR  

Are you an experienced History Teacher looking for a new challenge in a new school or a Newly Qualified Teacher looking to take up your first teaching post? Our school is a successful and diverse 11-16 comprehensive with 900 pupils, the school building has recently benefited from an investment of £11.2 million creating a new high-specification science block, lecture theatre, sports hall, ICT suites, astro-turf pitch and reception area. The English, Maths, Art and Design Technology departments were all remodeled, creating an environment that is both purposeful and inspiring.   

You will join a very successful, supportive and friendly Humanities Faculty who are committed to sustaining and improving results. You will be required to teach across the full age and ability range within both Key Stage 3 and 4 including GCSE level and have the ability, drive and commitment to maintain and improve the current success rate.

• Be passionate about your subject; 

• Have the adaptability to hit the ground running; 

• Possess the ability to inspire, challenge and motivate students along with the ability to manage behaviour; 

• Play an active role within the school and the wider community; 

 • Be pro-active with the ability to act on your own initiative; 

• Be supportive of the faculty drive to enable all students to achieve their full potential.
