Applying to work for us

Applications will only be accepted on the TES application form and references will be applied for at the shortlisting stage. Applications may not be considered if they are incomplete. We cannot accept CV's. We encourage early applications and reserve the right to close this vacancy before the closing date if we receive a high volume of applicants.

Please note that new guidance in Keeping Children Safe in Education 2022 requires us to carry out an online search as part of our due diligence on shortlisted candidates. This to enable us to identify any incidents or issues which have happened and are publicly available online which we might want to explore at interview. Once shortlisting has taken place, this search will be carried out for all candidates who will attend an interview.

All applicants must be permitted to work in the UK and hold a relevant work permit where necessary. This is not a role in which the Trust sponsors a visa application. Unless applicants make clear on their application form that they have the right to work in the UK by responding to the relevant question and providing their National Insurance Number, we are unable to consider their application and, due to the high volume of applications, may be unable to enter into correspondence with them. We expect applicants to provide this confirmation in order for their application to be considered, otherwise they will not be eligible for the vacancy. If you have lived or worked outside of the UK in the last 5 years, the Trust will also require additional information in order to comply with safer recruitment requirements. Any job offer will be conditional on the satisfactory completion of the necessary pre-employment checks and receipt of satisfactory references.

About CHS South

Welcome to CHS South, our new 11-16 eight-form entry, mixed, comprehensive school opened in conjunction with Chorlton High School. Our school provides a full capacity of 1200 in our brand new building which opened in September 2021.  Please follow this link to see information about our school and site:  https://www.chssouth.org.uk/about-us/location-and-facilities

We received our first Ofsted inspection in January 2023 and were graded as ‘good’ in all areas. In the report Inspectors comment that, “CHS South is a welcoming and supportive community. Pupils are proud of their school. Pupils understand the school values of ‘ready, respectful, safe’, and they try hard to follow them in all that they do.”

CHS South was opened in September 2018 to allow more young people in our community to access the successful model developed at our oversubscribed sister school, Chorlton High School.  This model ensures we provide an education built on the values of offering every young person we encounter the skills needed to craft a creative, happy & successful future.  These values are articulated in our school intent below:

CREATIVE: An education where imagination, curiosity and resilience enable us to ignite our learning.

HAPPY: A shared belief that optimism, empathy and responsibility are the foundations for a respectful, safe and inclusive community.

SUCCESSFUL: Individuals who are ready to learn, practise being reflective, and are motivated to become champions.

We also ensure the young people at CHS South have access to a broad and forward thinking enrichment curriculum. We are well positioned to offer a diverse and engaging sports curriculum through our fantastic relationships with the vast array of sports providers in our community. Furthermore our expertise and understanding of the creative arts, an industry growing faster in our local community than anywhere in the UK outside London, ensures our young people are provided with the opportunities to develop and hone their skills in order to become the next generation of creative trailblazers.

Prospere Learning Trust

CHS South is part of the Prospere Learning Trust, which believes in working collaboratively to ensure the best outcomes and life chances for students. The Trust currently comprises of 8 schools, including 4 mainstream high schools and 4 special needs schools (both primary and secondary) with further schools anticipated across Greater Manchester.
