Required for September 2021 for this heavily over-subscribed, flourishing and successful 11 – 18 Church of England Academy, an award-winning “Outstanding School” (SIAMS 2016). This year, 80% of Year 11 pupils gained at least 5 GCSE Grades 9-4 including English and mathematics, and 85% of A-level grades were awarded A*- C.
An enthusiastic and committed teacher is sought to teach History throughout Key Stages 3, 4 and 5. The ability to offer A-Level Classics/Ancient History would be an advantage.
This temporary position becomes available due to the present post holder taking maternity leave. The contract will last for the duration of the maternity leave which is expected to be until the end of May 2022.
The History Department is very successful and popular. Attainment and progress figures are both significantly above the national average and have been for a number of years. The subject is popular at GCSE with four options classes. The numbers opting to study History in our outstanding sixth form continue to grow, as do the number of students who continue to study the subject at university.
The school of 1000 pupils, plus a Sixth Form of 300 pupils, is attractively and conveniently situated close to the Ribble Valley and has excellent motorway connections via M65 to M6 and M62.
