The Portsmouth Grammar School is a leading co-educational school located in the historic heart of Portsmouth. A well-qualified and inspiring History teacher is sought to teach throughout the Senior School.
History is a flourishing and very popular subject with a strong tradition of excellent results at GCSE, IB and A Level.
This is a full time, temporary position to cover maternity leave. Applications from strong candidates who can only offer a part time role (0.5 FTE) will also be considered.
The ideal candidate will be able to teach Late Modern A Level and / or IB History.
PGS has its own, generous, salary scale and seeks to attract the best staff possible. The successful applicant can expect outstanding development opportunities and an attractive salary package.

ISI Report 2022
During an ISI Inspection in late 2022 both the achievement of the pupils, including their academic development and the personal development of the pupils were found to be excellent - the highest possible classification. The Inspection also looked at the School’s compliance with the regulatory standards and requirements. PGS met all the standards required.
