Portland Place School offers a timetable that is fairly loaded with average class sizes of fifteen mixed ability students (maximum). The school is looking for a teacher to deliver History lessons to years 7-10, with possibly an option of year 11 and year 13 History and year 11 Classics to an experienced candidate. The successful applicant will be passionate about the subject matter, engaging, creative in the delivering of lessons using a wide range of teaching styles, experienced and ideally have knowledge of the exam specifications of OCR at both GCSE and A Level.

The post is suitable for an experienced teacher for whom the school provides the ISTIP route. The salary will be in line with mainstream sector but in the Alpha Plus Scale.

Portland Place is a mixed, non-selective, non-denominational school for students aged 10-16, situated in central London. It is an independent school with a total of around 230 pupils. Portland Place School offers both traditional day school and hybrid school entry.

Portland Place was founded in 1996 at its present site. The Headmaster is Mr David Bradbury.
