Job overview

Within Humanities there is a true passion about each of our subjects and the student's learning in each of these. Fullbrook has provided me with a wide range of excellent CPD opportunities from NQT to middle leader. It truly is a school where a teacher can thrive and develop’.

K. Gordon – Head of History

To Start September 2018

Fullbrook is a mixed 11-18 Academy classified by Ofsted in March 2017 as Good.  In 2017, 84% of students achieved 5 or more GCSEs at 4+ including English and Maths.

At Fullbrook we believe all students should be challenged to achieve more than they ever thought possible, and offer a variety of extra-curricular activities, including the Duke of Edinburgh scheme to enhance our students’ talents.

We are seeking to appoint a newly qualified teacher of History for KS3, KS4 and potentially KS5. The successful applicant will be creative, plan innovative lessons and contribute to Schemes of Work. They will take the initiative and work well as part of a team. They will need to be an excellent communicator, have sound organisational skills and have the drive to see all students make excellent progress.

History is part of the committed and forward thinking Humanities faculty. We work collaboratively; lessons are planned and then adapted by teachers. History results last year were 82% A*-C. It is an extremely popular subject, with record numbers currently enrolled in the GCSE course. Our trips to the Somme live long in the memory of our students and the department organised a highly successful trip to Berlin this April.

Fullbrook offers a fully, tailored CPD programme which supports the needs of staff and encourages progression.

Whether you’re an experienced teacher wishing to broaden your experience, or an ambitious and dynamic NQT, we want to hear from you.

Details of the school and an application form are available on our school website: www.fullbrook.surrey.sch.uk
