The British International School Shanghai, Puxi.

BISS Puxi is a truly international school with over 60 nationalities represented in the school community. We are a high achieving international school where our results have continued to improve year on year across every Key Stage. We are non-selective and yet, in June 2021, 66% of our Year 11 students achieved 5+ A*/A grades. Our Year 13 IB Diploma students achieved an average of 38.4 points. 39% of our students achieved 40+ points. These levels of attainment have been consistent for over six years. On average, our students score five points above the global average in their IB Diploma, as well as being offered and accepting places at the world’s top 30 universities. These outstanding results come from outstanding teaching and learning at all ages from 2 to 18. However, we are not complacent and strive for continual improvement through a collegiate and supportive environment, recognising staff and students as learners alike.

The school’s guiding philosophy is ‘Be Ambitious’ and for all of our school community to ‘Think more, achieve more, be more’.  This aligns with Nord Anglia’s own vision regarding an ambitious philosophy. In realising this, the school has a clear and coherent development plan, focused on the 5 pillars of: Academic Excellence; Internationalism; STEAM with MIT; Performing Arts with Juilliard; and Sport. Development across the school is consistently aimed at enhancing these aspects of our work and performance. The school has expanded the breadth of its curriculum offer whilst simultaneously improving the quality and level of the outcomes that its students achieve.

Our Schools

Each Nord Anglia Education school is unique in character and designed to meet the needs of its community. We are united by our philosophy, to be ambitious for our students, our people and our family of schools. We believe that being part of our family of schools gives them a special advantage. Working together, we can achieve more than we can individually. Our schools have access to a wide range of resources and support to enhance their success.

We also create unique opportunities to benefit our students and people, such as the Global Campus, Nord Anglia University, and our collaborations with The Juilliard School, MIT, UNICEF and King’s College London.

Global academic results
