TEACHER OF HISTORY
Part-Time (0.4 FTE) - Permanent
from September 2018
We are looking for a well-qualified and enthusiastic teacher of History to join our Humanities faculty. This post could suit an NQT as well as a more experienced candidate. Applications are welcomed from Geography specialists.
The Redhill Academy is a thriving and over-subscribed 11-18 academy with specialisms in the Performing Arts and Science. In March 2013 Ofsted judged The Redhill Academy to be an outstanding school. In addition, the school has been awarded Teaching School status, offering a wide range of opportunities for staff. The school is friendly and forward-looking, and determined to build on the high standards we currently achieve.
Please telephone Kay Mitchell on 0115 9261481 for further details and an application form or email at k.mitchell@redhillacademy.org.uk. Alternatively, please visit our website www.theredhillacademy.org.uk

About Redhill Academy
At The Redhill Academy we have four principles that guide everything we do:
◦ High expectations of all students
◦ Valuing and celebrating academic achievement
◦ Outstanding teaching for all students
◦ Widening students’ experiences through a range of extra-curricular activities including sports and the performing arts
Redhill was the first secondary school in Nottinghamshire to gain an “outstanding” Ofsted rating for the quality of teaching. This has now been achieved twice in succession. At our most recent inspection (2013), Ofsted judged that “teaching is outstanding” and that “during the inspection … the teaching observed was consistently effective in capturing students’ interest and engagement”. Our students were praised for behaving ”extremely well in lessons and around the academy site” and for being “calm, considerate and courteous at all times”. The inspectors also found that “students are proud of their academy”, which to me is probably the sentence in the report that says most about what we try and do here at Redhill.
