Job overview

Outwood Grange Academies Trust is one of the highest performing academy trusts in the country – and we’re expanding fast. We are enjoying significant investment from the Department of Education to intervene and tackle underperformance in schools across a number of regions, giving us huge impact on countless young people’s lives.

Our achievements speak for themselves, with most of our academies rated as Outstanding or Good with Outstanding features.

We have a great training package for NQTs and teachers new to the academy including: History Matters; Director led CPD focused on specific aspects of History and Geography teaching; weekly professional development time and further programmes free through the Outwood Institute of Education. We invest in you so you invest in our students.

We welcome applications for our central region of the Trust from NQTs and more experienced teaching staff.  We are looking for individuals who love their subject and have a passion to develop this in others. You could progress quickly across our Family of Schools if that was what you were looking for, through Humanities leadership or through our Deeps structure; but, if you just want to be the best History teacher you can be, then we are also the Trust for you!

Successful candidates will be assigned to a specific academy. Applications for these posts will be considered for vacancies at the following academies. This will be discussed with you in more detail at the interview and you will be given the opportunity to express your preference(s):

• Outwood Academy Carlton

• Outwood Academy Shafton

• Outwood Grange Academy

• Outwood Academy City Fields

• Outwood Academy Freeston

• Outwood Academy Hemsworth

About The Outwood Grange Academies Trust (OGAT)

Interim Chief Executive Officer: Lee Wilson

The Outwood Grange Academies Trust was born out of the success of Outwood Grange: a large school with 2,200 students, which has achieved record results for the last decade.

As one of the highest performing Family of Schools in the North of England, we have transformed education and outcomes across a network of 40 primary and secondary academies. Working closely together and sharing best practice, our schools do whatever it takes to ensure that every child, irrespective of starting point, can realise his or her full potential and unique talents.

Whether you’re joining us as a support staff member, an ECT, in a leadership position, and everything in between, we will invest in you and your development throughout your career.

By all working together, supporting and motivating each other, we believe we can raise current standards, and transform the lives of our students. If, as a Trust, we support you to help you reach your potential, we can help ensure all the children you teach will also reach theirs.

Please note that you are wholly responsible for fact checking in respect of the information provided by schools. Please also check for the latest visa and work permit requirements that may apply.
