West Calder High School is a non-denominational comprehensive school offering our students a progressive, relevant, challenging and enjoyable curriculum with opportunities for personalisation and choice. Current roll is in the region of 800 students.

West Calder High School offers the opportunity for all young people to succeed. We want WCHS to thrive as an ambitious, vibrant and caring community, working in partnership with others to improve and to meet the needs of every learner, where resources, knowledge and skills are shared and used wisely, and achievements are shared and celebrated. There is a positive and mutually respectful relationship between school staff and students. The school has achieved Rights Respecting School Level 1 status, and has significantly increased the level of student involvement in the life of the school, promoting active citizenship through charity work and community engagement.

A relevant teaching qualification and registration with the General Teaching Council for Scotland is essential.
