Located in Limassol, Foley’s is a well-established, friendly, disciplined school with a  reputation for academic excellence and extra-curricular involvement. The school has Early Years, Infants, Junior and Secondary sections and has a total roll of over 750 pupils (currently 250 in the secondary school, but growing!). Over 45 different nationalities are represented.

The educational programme is based on the UK National Curriculum, adapted to meet the needs of the international community. At secondary level, pupils are prepared for IGCSEs and AS/A levels and the pupils of Foley’s consistently achieve excellent results in these examinations. The vast majority of school leavers go on to top universities, about 75% to the UK, the rest to other countries in Europe and the Middle East as well as the USA, Canada, Australia.

This is an opportunity to join our highly successful Humanities Department, as the secondary section of the school expands in preparation for a move to our new state-of-the-art premises.

We are looking for a committed and enthusiastic teacher to teach History, Geography and General Studies to Key Stage 3 and either History or Geography to at least IGCSE level. The role could be adjusted to suit a recently qualified, or a more experienced teacher.

About Foley's School

FOLEY’S SCHOOL CYPRUS

Located in the coastal town of Limassol, Foley’s is a private, independent, international, day-school catering for all age groups from Pre-Reception to Upper Sixth (3 years 8 months -19 years old). We currently have around 1100 pupils across the whole age range.

The 2019-20 academic year marked the 50th Anniversary of Foley’s School. It also marked the start of a new era, as the whole school became established in our new, purpose-built premises, over-looking Limassol, in Ayios Athanasios. The facilities at the new premises are state-of-the-art, with fully equipped laboratories, computer rooms, art rooms, music department and a large study/library. All classrooms have the latest interactive flat screens. Sports facilities include a sports hall, a 25m swimming pool and an all-weather athletics track, surrounding an astroturf football pitch. The new site has an outdoor amphitheatre and, later, there will also be a 400-seat indoor theatre, which is still under construction.

The school aims to provide a well-rounded education combining the highest academic standards with a wide range of extra-curricular activities, in a friendly, secure and disciplined environment.

We have pupils from a very wide range of backgrounds and nationalities - around 50 different countries being represented. All lessons (apart from Greek and foreign language lessons, of course!) are taught in English. We broadly follow the UK National Curriculum at primary and secondary level, although this is adapted slightly to make it more relevant to international pupils.

The primary section of the school is a place for children to grow in confidence and to discover their talents within a caring and nurturing environment. The educational programme is based on the UK National Curriculum, adapted to meet the needs of the international community.

At secondary level, pupils are prepared for IGCSEs and AS/A levels and the pupils of Foley’s consistently achieve excellent results in these examinations. For example, over the past 8 years, in IGCSE exams, approximately 83% of pupils from the school achieved 9-7 (A*/A) and 99% achieved 9-4 (A*-C)  grades. At A level, approximately 91% achieved A*- C with 55% A*/A.

The vast majority of our school leavers go on to top universities. Most tend to go to the UK, the rest to other countries in Europe and the Middle East as well as the USA, Canada and Australia.

Cyprus offers a safe and comfortable lifestyle, whilst the school offers a disciplined but friendly environment, with well-motivated boys and girls and pleasant, highly professional colleagues
