Tenby International School Miri (TISM) is part of the Tenby Schools Group, one of the largest and fastest-growing in South East Asia.  All Tenby Schools are drawn together by our collective vision of ‘A United World at Peace – Through Education’. 

TISM is located in the state of Sarawak in Malaysia, on the north coast of the tropical island of Borneo; and as such is surrounded by extensive areas of extreme natural beauty and endless opportunities for outdoor activities and cultural experiences.

The School offers a modified British curriculum to children between the ages of three and sixteen, with our first Sixth Form classes starting in August 2016. The Primary School follows the International Primary Curriculum, with Cambridge IGCSEs offered in the Secondary years.

TISM offers a competitive salary with generous contributions to an Employee Provident Fund, a relocation allowance, fee reduction for children, medical insurance and flight allowance. The school has good facilities and is fully resourced.

The Role

You should have a degree, QTS or equivalent and teaching experience, particularly in the areas of child-centred teaching and learning. Experience at A-level or equivalent would be advantageous. The successful candidate would be required to teach both History and Geography. Experience of teaching up to GCSE/IGCSE is essential.

Applicants should also have an interest in staff development and preferably have experience in supporting other colleagues- an increasing number of our staff are Malaysian teachers and a key part of the role is in helping to support in their development as International School teachers.

The Package

This is a two-year contract with an option to renew at the end.  Benefits include:

Interviews

Initial interviews will be completed through Skype. Final interviews will be carried out face-to-face whenever possible.
