The Academy

Nunthorpe is a very popular outstanding co-educational 11 – 19 comprehensive Academy with approximately 1600 students on roll.

Nunthorpe Academy is the lead Teaching School in the North East Schools Teaching Alliance – NESTA. Through this ‘school led’ system of self-improvement we focus on the key areas of School to School Support; Professional Development; Specialist Leaders of Education and Initial Teacher Training & Succession Planning 

The Faculty

We are a large, experienced and established faculty with 11 full time and 2 part time teachers and also 1 full time Faculty Support Assistant.  The faculty offers Geography, History, Philosophy and Ethics and Psychology to GCSE and A level; with Government and Politics also offered at KS5

We require an energetic, inspirational and talented teacher with a genuine intellect and passion for Humanities to teach KS3. The successful candidate will have the ability and potential to consistently deliver outstanding lessons; and be ambitious for the achievement of every student in their care.

Nunthorpe Academy is part of Nunthorpe Multi Academy Trust (NMAT). 

Nunthorpe Academy is a mainstream, non-selective, non-denominational secondary school for children aged 11-18. It is situated in Nunthorpe, Middlesbrough, and has over 1600 students. The Academy was rated “Good” in its most recent Ofsted inspection (2019) whilst the sixth form provision maintained its 'Outstanding' status.
