The Royal British International School was founded in September 2019 and has already set high standards for British education in Cairo  We are an Early Years to Year 13 School with a rapidly increasing student role. 

The school is a member of the British Schools of the Middle East (BSME) and is currently accredited by the Egyptian Ministry of Education and the Pearson Qualifications Board.  As a new school, we are looking to become accredited as a British Overseas School (BSO) within the next academic year. Our curriculum broadly follows the English National Curriculum, leading to IGCSE examinations at the end of Years 10 and 11. After successfully completing IGCSE exams students take AS and A levels.

The school has outstanding facilities and is in New Cairo, about 10 minutes from Cairo Airport. Over the last five years New Cairo has rapidly developed into an exciting and vibrant  modern city approximately 40km from Downtown Cairo. It  contains all of the modern amenities you would expect from modern day 'new cities' and their related developments.  The majority of private housing is located in gated compounds, road networks are excellent and the area has become a focus for International Schools, The American University in Cairo (AUC), Cairo Airport, new hospitals shopping malls and administrative centres for many international corporations and brands.

The Royal School is looking to appoint a Humanities teacher for the 2020-2021 Academic Year, with the post beginning in August 2020. It is expected that teachers have an excellent understanding of the British National Curriculum and are up to date with current developments. 

Teaching will initially be History and Geography within our Key Stage 3 section opening next August; this will continue on to IGCSE teaching within specialist subjects during the following year. Ability to teach Global Perspectives to Years 7, 8 and 9 would be highly desirable.

The Royal School will welcome applications from Newly Qualified Teachers and experienced teachers alike. There is a comprehensive new teacher induction programme and full support will be provided to all new staff.

All staff are expected to contribute to the school pastoral system, and have a genuine commitment to developing student learning and putting children first.

Our school

Founded in 2019; a growing population of students enjoy the graceful, sophisticated and distinguished school premises which house The Royal British International school in the New Cairo district. Our curriculum

At The Royal School we offer an enriched, tailored delivery of the English National Curriculum. Our Early Years department provides a solid foundation with a child-centred approach to develop each individual child’s passion for learning. Our bespoke Early Years area provides a safe and stimulating indoor and outdoor learning environment. The best of current British teaching practices, taught by qualified and experienced professionals, supports learning and progress across the Primary department with specialists delivering MFL, PE, Dance, Art, IT and Global Perspectives.  Arabic Language, Religion and Social Studies are provided and follow ministry requirements. In our Secondary section students continue to follow our British curriculum leading to Cambridge and Edexcel Examination Boards IGCSE and A level. 


Our Unique Academy Pathways

A point of distinction at The Royal School is the student enrichment focus of Academy Pathways which students opt into from Year Three onwards. With our current options of Squash, Golf, Swimming, Music (choice of instruments or vocal), Dance or Art, the Royal School students may enjoy a weekly 2-hour focus on a pathway during the school day which enables them to excel in an area for which they have a passion.
