Job overview

If you share our values, join our family.

Located in the seaside town of Redcar, on the edge of the North York Moors National Park, Outwood Academy Redcar enjoys easy access to both stunning coast and countryside.

In the summer of 2016, our students achieved greatly improved GCSE results, with 52% attaining A*-C in both English and Mathematics – almost doubling our performance in just 12 months. Outcomes climbed again in 2017, with 60% achieving the new 9-4 (A*-C) grades and 45% the new 9-5 (A*-B) grades in both subjects.

At the same time, our Progress 8 score of +0.24 makes us Redcar’s highest performing school for students joining us from a primary setting, second in Redcar & Cleveland, and eighth in the entire Tees Valley area, spanning five local authorities.

This opportunity will see you become a part of the fast growing and popular Humanities Faculty. You will be a key member in developing and embedding effective Humanities skills for students. Joining a growing Humanities department with an increasing uptake at GCSE, you’ll be required to teach KS3 Humanities and some life (PSHCE) lessons.

The Humanities department is committed to driving progress and attainment to improve the life chances of every student. We need an excellent teacher who is passionate about providing young people with the best possible education whatever their background or ability.

As you can see, continuous improvement is what we’re all about, and we’re always ready to go the extra mile to improve the futures of our students – and of course our staff. Join us and you will see your progress accelerate.
