Teacher of Humanities (Temporary Maternity Cover)
We are looking for an inspirational and enthusiastic teacher to join our ambitious staff team, from November 2017. This temporary role is offered on a part time basis, 0.8 FTE.
The successful candidate will teach highly motivated students across KS3, delivering Geography, History and RS lessons. Whilst a Geography specialism is preferred, an interest and passion across these subjects is essential, along with a willingness to deliver excellent teaching across three subject areas.
The Humanities Faculty enjoys excellent examination results, specialised resources and an extensive portfolio of fieldtrips and educational visits. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual to work with talented pupils and dedicated staff.

The position is temporary to cover maternity leave until July 2018. Salary is MPS/UPS. The Teachers’ Pension Scheme is also applicable. Wakefield Girls' High School, a selective independent school for girls aged 11-18, first opened its doors in 1878, at a time when the educational and social emancipation of women was accelerating. It occupies an extensive site in a conservation area near the centre of Wakefield, West Yorkshire. The school became independent in 1982.
Wakefield Girls' High School forms part of the Wakefield Grammar School Foundation group of schools. Some teaching in Years 12 and 13 takes place jointly with Queen Elizabeth Grammar School, the boys' school in the foundation.
