Teacher of Humanities

Two year contract in the first instance
Pensby High School is an 11-16 co-educational and non-selective secondary school; in a highly selective local authority. We are currently looking to employ a Teacher of Humanities to join our successful department. Pensby High School has seen a rapid improvement in outcomes for its students. We are committed to placing the development of teachers and therefore students’ learning at the forefront of what we do. As a result we are seeing a rapid growth in the number of students across both key stage 3 and 4, with parents and students increasingly seeing the school as their first choice.
This post, whilst temporary in the first instance, is to ensure that we have the capacity to maintain the quality of teaching and learning as we grow, and is likely to become permanent within two years.
New appointments are supported by a tailored coaching programme and all staff contribute to a collegiate coaching programme.
The successful candidate will be expected to be able to teach across a range of Humanities subject; History, Geography, RE, PHSE and Citizenship:
• Teach at key stage 3 and 4 in the subject area
• Display and promote excellence in teaching and learning
• Inspire Pupils
• Have a commitment to raising achievement
