Job overview

With faith at the heart of all that we do at Bradford Academy we have a team of dedicated staff who are enthusiastic about learning and committed to our young people and their educational and spiritual journey.

We work with a range of partners to ensure that the experience of our young people is personalised, appropriate and challenging. This was recently recognised through receipt of the prestigious TES award for Community and Collaboration.

In our Secondary Phase, we are looking to appoint an inspirational and creative teacher for our Humanities department, someone with the potential and desire to be an outstanding classroom practitioner, who is able to develop a passion for Geography within our learners.

You will be joining an experienced department that is committed to improving outcomes for all learners.

Your role will involve teaching Humanities across all age and ability ranges at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. You will be responsible for ensuring all learners are engaged in your lessons by delivering quality first teaching and by doing this, ensuring that outcomes are continuously improving for our learners.

The possibility of leading in an area such as History, PSHE or RE would also form part of the discussion at interview.

As an academy, we have high expectations of our staff and students. We expect our staff to actively participate in CPD programmes, some of which are delivered by experienced Lead Practitioners within the academy. We have been awarded the Professional Development Quality Mark from University College London at Platinum level for our training and development of staff. If you are looking to develop as a professional, whether you are a NQT or someone with experience then Bradford Academy is the perfect place for you.

Interview Date 26 May 2022

Bradford Academy is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share in this commitment. All successful candidates will be expected to undergo an enhanced DBS check and any offer of employment will be subject to its return plus receiving satisfactory references, children’s barred list check and section 128 check (where relevant). Please see our DBS Policy in the Academy Info/Policies area for our policy pertaining to the recruitment of ex-offenders.

It is an offence to apply for a role if you are barred from engaging in regulated activity relevant to children.

We offer an excellent support programme (with subject specialist mentors) for NQT’s.
