We have gone through an exciting period of growth in the last 12 months at USP College. Our approach to our curriculum is Career Focused and there are a number of opportunities available for staff with an innovative approach. With your support your will be enriching the experience for over 4,000 students based across two campuses with a wide range of disciplines  A-Levels, Professional Courses (including BTECs), Apprenticeships, Adult Courses and Higher Education.

Teacher of IT
Start Date – 20th of August 2018

 Permanent, Part time (0.5) FTE 

 Salary:  £24,290 - £39,948 per annum (pro-rata), inclusive of fringe allowance

Plus, a Golden Hello of £5,000 

 We would like to appoint an enthusiastic Information Technology teacher who wishes to join a strong, dynamic, supportive and successful department to contribute to the excellent learning environment we provide for our students. 

You will have the opportunity to teach on a wide range of courses including BTEC level 3 (NQF) in Information Technology. We are embarking on a new project to deliver IT units through the innovative use of a Learning Company. Students will be working directly with employers on real life project briefs and will deliver real solutions to IT problems in industry. There may be the opportunity to teach on the A level Computer science programme, for a suitably experienced candidate.  

Support will be provided in order for the successful candidate to develop their own teaching and learning style and the opportunity to work within a team that share ideas, are forward thinking and are willing to try out new approaches to teaching, learning and assessment.

Due to the time of year, interviews will take place on a rolling basis, as applications are received.

Interviews will take place w/c 18th of June 2018 onwards.

The college was formed in 2017 as a result of a merger between Palmers College (Grays) and Seevic College (Benfleet) and the last 12 months has been a period of very positive change, growth and investment. 

We now provide career-focused learning to around 4,000 students across the Seevic and Palmers Campuses, helping each of them develop the real skills needed by businesses as well as achieving their formal qualifications. Our students study a variety of courses including including A-Levels, Professional Qualifications, Apprenticeships, Foundation Learning, Higher Education and courses for Adults.
