LAMDA Teacher 

(Pok Fu Lam and Kowloon Bay Prep Schools)

This is an exciting opportunity and you will have a passion for drama and excellent knowledge of the LAMDA syllabus

Main Purpose

To teach LAMDA to Key Stage 2 students and offer as extra-curricular activity at lunchtimes and after school.

To prepare and give lessons in Speaking in Public, Acting and Devising and to play a supporting role in the direction of school performances.

 Tasks & Responsibilities

To encourage students, through the use of group and individual performance, to gain drama knowledge and skills through learning in lessons

To provide support to the Drama Department

Follow the LAMDA syllabus

Tailor a programme of lessons to suit the needs of students ie speaking in public, acting and devising

About You

Qualifications

A Degree in  Drama or a qualification appropriate for the teaching of the LAMDA syllabus

Experience and Knowledge

Experience of working with children and young adults in an educational setting; Desirable to have a wide knowledge of classical texts and contemporary playwrights

LAMDA Teaching experience

A thorough knowledge of the requirements of LAMDA exams

Skills/Ability

To make learning enjoyable and to encourage an atmosphere of mutual respect

Excellent time management and organisational skills

Excellent interpersonal and oral communications skills with clear and accurate spoken English

Excellent practical skills

About Us

Terms and Conditions:

Working Hours: 7:30am TO 3.30pm Monday to Friday, term time only

Base: Kowloon Bay Campus/Pok Fu Lam Campus

Medical: Provided

Tenure: The post is normally offered on a one-year initial contract, renewable on an annual basis  by mutual agreement and subject to performance. Full employment terms, conditions and job  descriptions will be sent to all shortlisted candidates.
