About the College

Longley Park Sixth Form College opened in September 2004 with purpose built facilities and an excellent staff team drawn from across the country. Our aim is to ensure that you have the best possible teaching, support and environment to reach your potential.
The buildings have been designed by internationally renowned architects Ellis Williams, who also designed the Baltic Centre in Newcastle.
The aim from the start has been to create a world class environment for post-16 learning which will give you access to the very best facilities and equipment.
The quality of the design and building earned the Royal Institute of British Architect's award for the north of England in 2005.
At the heart of the building is an imaginatively designed Plaza with a café and social space. There is a modern Learning Resource Centre with open access IT facilities and a wide selection of electronic learning resources as well as books.
Specialist areas of the curriculum are well resourced with facilities such as a drama studio, fitness laboratory, dark room and science suite. There are plenty of self-study spaces including good access to both general and specialist IT equipment.
