Job overview
We are looking for a full-time teacher to join our Lexis teaching team at the Roundhouse on a two-year fixed term contract.
You will be a dedicated and motivated professional ready to provide an innovative, dynamic and responsive delivery of ESOL to 16 - 18-year-old students.
You will have experience in delivering ESOL and ideally you will have worked with students from the hard to reach sectors of the community. You will be responsible for planning schemes of work and lessons aimed at engaging students through an enriched and differentiated curriculum which has IT and Mathematics embedded in it. You will also be responsible for setting and marking assignments, keeping student portfolios up to date and entering student data on to our administrative system. Excellent administration and interpersonal skills together with a commitment to working effectively as part of a team are also essential in this role.
In addition, candidates will also need a teaching qualification, and have achieved a Level 2 or equivalent qualification in English and Mathematics.

Derby College is a large general further education college with four sites in or near the city of Derby. It supports around 26,000 learners, who choose from more than 1,000 full-time and part-time apprenticeship, A-level, BTEC and NVQ courses.
Derby College was established as a single institution in 2002 by merging three further education colleges: Mackworth Tertiary College, Wilmorton Tertiary College and Broomfield Agricultural College. A merger between South East Derbyshire College and Derby College was approved in 2010. Heavy investment has been made by the college in its teaching and learning facilities, from the fully equipped teaching kitchens at the Roundhouse campus to the high-tech science labs at the Joseph Wright Centre and the Equestrian Centre at the Broomfield Hall campus.
