Scott Medical and Healthcare College in Plymouth, are looking for a colleague to join our team. This is an exciting time to join our successful MAT comprising Scott Medical and Healthcare College, Stoke Damerel Community College and Montpelier Primary School. We are looking to appoint a Teacher of Mathematics for Key Stages 4 and 5. 

We want our students to become responsible, competent, and confident with the ability to build skills relevant to medical, healthcare and jobs in the wider community. 

We welcome applications from qualified teachers and NQTs, who can demonstrate the highest quality of teaching in order to raise attainment and are committed to getting the most out of young people.

Your role

  • Working within the small Maths Department, contributing in full to raising student achievement and the continued development of the department.
  • Teaching Maths across the ability range 13 to 19 at GCSE
  • Contribute to enrichment and intervention support activities within Maths

About Scott College - Medical and Healthcare College

Scott Medical and Healthcare College is situated in the vibrant waterfront city of Plymouth in the South West, which is packed full of historical interest, cultural attractions and set in an area of outstanding natural beauty with easy access to several national parks and award winning blue flag beaches.

We are part of Greenshaw Learning Trust, a Multi Academy Trust, which is a family of like-minded schools, that collaborate to provide mutual support, share their good practice, and learn from each other, whilst retaining and developing their own distinctive character.

We are a relatively new social, health and medical care studio school for 13 – 19-year-olds and welcomed our first cohort of students in September 2017. We moved into our brand new, self contained and purpose built, medical centred facility in September 2018. Our staff and students benefit from the modern specialist teaching and science rooms which houses specialist equipment, mentoring and coaching suites and a fitness gym. Our Ofsted inspection graded the school as “Good”

Medicine and health and social care is one of the largest employment sectors in the region and the demand for skilled entrants into employment remains high. We work in close partnership with Plymouth University’s Faculty of Health: Medicine, Dentistry and Human Sciences, University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust and Livewell Southwest to bring about a new approach to learning, blending traditional teaching with real, project-based learning and work experience.
