This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic Mathematics/ Economics teacher to join two dynamic, hard-working and friendly departments whose work is greatly valued and supported by the Governors and the School Leadership Team. The position would suit either an NQT or a more experienced teacher.
Mathematics is a popular subject at Channing, with large numbers opting to study A level each year. Each full time member of the department teaches a varied timetable embracing all abilities and age groups. Further Mathematics is taught at A level alongside Oxbridge and STEP preparation.
Economics, similarly, is a popular A level subject and students are entered to sit the OCR examinations. Our A level results are excellent and a significant number of students go on to study Economics at university level.
The successful candidate will be a graduate of a good university, able to demonstrate excellent subject knowledge, high academic standards, and an ability to enthuse pupils of all ages. A teaching qualification is essential as are experience and understanding of the UK education system.

Academic achievement
Academic results are excellent – GCSE and A Level results consistently place us amongst the top-performing schools in the UK and London. Virtually all our sixth formers go on to HIgher Education, some after a gap year. Girls also excel in a very wide range of co-curricular and extra curricular activities, and especially in Music, Drama, Sport and Art.
Community spirit
The Head and members of staff know every girl personally and as an individual. We have a strong family tradition and an enthusiastic and supportive parents' association. The atmosphere is calm, focussed and purposeful. We set high standards emphasising concern and respect for the needs of others. Our ambitious £13m building programme, completed in 2017, has provided us with excellent dining facilities, a Music School, a new Sixth Form Centre, Sports Hall with fitness suite and a state-of-the-art Performing Arts Centre.
