Job overview

Full Time, Permanent

MPS

To start from 1st September 2020 we are looking for an exceptional Mathematics teacher who will inspire and motivate students in this high performing Bath boys’ lower school and mixed sixth Form.

We need someone with dynamism who aspires to the unconventional and who will create a buzz and excitement both within and beyond the confines of the classroom.   The successful candidate will have to demonstrate an ability to deliver outstanding academic results and exemplary classroom practice.  This position is equally suitable for an experienced teacher and one new to the profession.

The Maths results are very strong both at GCSE (86% achieving grade 4 or better in 2019) and at A’ level (69% achieving grades A*-C in 2019). The uptake at A’ level is very high with 88 students completing A’ level Maths in 2019 and 10 completing A’ level Further Mathematics. The Mathematics Department is proud of the success of their students at both GCSE and A level, and of the many students who take their mathematical studies further at university. The successful candidate would be expected to teach Mathematics up to GCSE and ideally up to A’ level too.

The School has a vibrant extra-curricular life, which includes sport, music, drama, outdoor activities, debating and public speaking.  A willingness to contribute will be a clear advantage.  The Application Pack is available on the Beechen Cliff School website and attached to this advert.

Midsomer Norton Schools Partnership is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. An enhanced Disclosure Barring Service Certificate is required for this post prior to commencement.

Applications should be made by via the TES Quick Apply by noon on Wednesday 5th February 2020.  Interviews are currently planned to take place the week commencing 10th February 2020.
