Mendip Studio School is a unique and small specialist school with students' pastoral care, educational needs and personal future aspirations at its very heart.  We have a small team and just 120 students on roll, aged 14 to 19 years and we serve the communities of Radstock, Frome and surrounding villages.

Mendip Studio School needs a very particular kind of staff.  As with all educators, they need to have a heartfelt commitment to challenging and supporting students to be the best they can be.  They also need to be committed to 14 to 19 Education with an emphasis on developing young peoples’ skills through a predominantly applied learning curriculum, ready for employment.  

Working in this relatively small school environment, staff need to be resilient, adaptable and to exhibit high levels of emotional literacy and initiative.  These skills and attributes are key to all of this - a strong community bound by professional behaviours, particularly honesty and self-reflection.  Together, our staff, our students, their parents & carers, will collaborate to fulfil the school’s unique vision and ethos. Risk-taking and creativity, within the boundaries of the Trust’s expectations, is encouraged in order to meet children’s needs in this ever-changing world.
