The King John School in Benfleet is a heavily oversubscribed 11-18 mixed comprehensive of over 2000 students, of which approx. 420 are in the sixth form. As a school our Progress 8 measure places us in the top 25% of the country. Over 76% of our students achieved a standard pass in English and mathematics at GCSE (Grade 4 or above) and we are recognised by the Department for Education for our proactive promotion of the English Baccalaureate within our curriculum. Our A-level results have been exemplary, with over 60% of year 13 students gaining A* - B grades in all of their subjects. The school enjoys an excellent reputation, having received a letter from the Director of Education in September commending the school on the ‘fantastic’ results this year. The school has also been graded at the end of September 2013 as ‘Outstanding’ across all key areas.

We are seeking to appoint an outstanding teacher of mathematics with the ability to teach at all key stages to join our supportive and highly effective faculty.  The role is suitable for an NQT or an experienced mathematics teacher. The successful candidate will have the option to teach both mathematics and further mathematics A-level, but the ability to do so is not essential for application to this post.
