At Lordswood Girls’ School we are constantly striving to improve on our best and we are very proud of our position as one of the top schools, both in the city and nationally. The school has been ranked as one of only five secondary schools in Birmingham in the top 4% nationally based on its recent Progress 8 score, and enjoys an excellent reputation for its academic, sporting, and artistic achievements.
The Mathematics department has a clear vision – ‘to inspire the mathematician in all children and promote a love of inquisitive thinking and problem solving’. The department works collaboratively to ensure exceptional standards of teaching, with the students always at the heart of everything we do. Mathematical confidence is built in our learners through a caring, supportive approach; teaching for depth of understanding and numerical fluency in order to create resilient and flexible young mathematicians.
We are looking to appoint an excellent classroom practitioner with the ability to teach mathematics across Key Stages 3 – 5. The successful candidate will be passionate about their subject and able to inspire all students to reach their full potential in this important curriculum area.
