The Holy Family Catholic School is a consistently oversubscribed Catholic School serving the town of Keighley and surrounding villages in pleasant semi-rural surroundings.  The school is on a rapid improvement journey.  Governors appointed a new Headteacher in September 2021 and the school Leadership Team has also been overhauled.  We expect the school to convert to academy status this academic year becoming a member of The Blessed Christopher Wharton Catholic Academy Trust family of schools. Feedback from our most recent Ofsted inspection in March 2022 recognises that ‘relationships between pupils and staff are respectful’, ‘the school has high ambitions for all pupils.’ and that pupils, ‘feel that staff at The Holy Family Catholic School care’.

We offer an excellent platform for enhanced career development and whole school leadership opportunities in a supportive and caring community. ‘Leaders and staff have continued to develop and strengthen the new curriculum plans which were launched in September 2021. The delivery of the new curriculum has been supported through professional development. This has focused on general areas of education and also subject-specific elements. Staff have embraced the opportunity to work across different faculties. They have enjoyed sharing ideas with different colleagues.’ Ofsted March 2022

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff a volunteers to share this commitment.  Safer recruitment practice and pre-employment checks will be undertaken before any appointment is confirmed.  This post is subject to an enhanced Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) check.

Values and Vision

The Holy Family bases itself on three basic principles – awakening minds with its strong focus on the school faith, achieving dreams through hard work towards a high quality of curriculum and serving others as strong upholders of Catholic values. It aims to be a school that mixes the best of old and new, basing itself on traditional values while giving its learners an education that is current and relevant to 21st century Britain.

Ofsted

“Leaders and governors have worked very effectively to create a coherent and mutually respectful school community. Pupils are happy and proud of their school and the way it supports them. Behaviour is good and those pupils who find the high expectations at the school challenging are well and effectively supported by committed and knowledgeable staff.  Senior leaders have now put in place systems to address the variability in the quality of teaching and pupils’ outcomes.”
