Mathematics at South Hampstead High School
The Mathematics Department consists of a mixture of full-time and part-time members of staff, some of whom have other responsibilities in the School. In a school of this academic calibre it is a pleasure to stimulate and inspire the students’ bright and alert minds.
All girls in Years 7 to 11 take part in the Junior or Intermediate Mathematical challenges whilst all A level students sit the Senior Mathematical Challenge. We also enter a team each year in the Team Maths Challenge and the Senior Team Maths Challenge. The department organises a very popular Maths Help clinic each week and trips to relevant lectures are arranged. Laptops and iPads are provided and used by all members of the Department.
