The British School of Costa Rica is seeking a talented, enthusiastic and dynamic Teacher of Mathematics to join our secondary teaching faculty in July of 2021.

The successful candidate will join a stable and friendly teaching faculty that provides ongoing support and professional development.   With an average class size of approximately 20 students, the candidate will be expected to facilitate student-centred learning experiences in the subject of Mathematics to students aged 11 to 18.

About The British School of Costa Rica

The British School of Costa Rica is an independent, bilingual, international school in San José, Costa Rica.  The school is accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC) and authorized by the Costa Rican Ministry of Education.  It offers an International Education system, including the International Primary Curriculum (IPC), International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) delivered mainly in English and the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma delivered in both Spanish and English.  The School holds an Independent Operator's license for the Duke of Edinburgh's International Award for Young People.

Located in a pleasant, western, suburban area of the capital city, San Jose, purpose-built school facilities have been constructed since 1986 on a 2.2 hectare site.  Facilities include: 5 Senior School Science Laboratories, 1 Primary Activities/Science Room, 3 Computer Laboratories (1 Primary, 2 Secondary), 1 Art Salon and Studio, a 300-seat Auditorium / Theatre, a 1200 sq. metre gymnasium and a Dance Salon.  The School serves a mainly local population but overall counts with 24 different nationalities among its students.  The teaching staff is composed mainly of experienced and qualified British, Canadian, Australian and Costa Rican teachers; overall, 8 different nationalities are represented.
