We are looking for a committed teacher of Mathematics with the potential to develop into an outstanding classroom practitioner to match the aspirations of our students. Someone who has a genuine enthusiasm for Mathematics and the ability and commitment to inspire, support and nurture students of all abilities. We have high expectations of every learner and we are relentless in our pursuit of delivering the mastery Mathematics curriculum to obtain the highest possible outcomes. 

 

We are a popular Academy, consistently oversubscribed and with high quality outcomes at KS4. We pride ourselves on a culture built upon strong relationships, mutual respect and a commitment to developing students and staff alike. Our curriculum has always been based upon quality, breadth and choice.

Hummersknott Academy is a co-educational, non-denominational secondary school in Darlington, County Durham with approximately 1300 students aged 11-16 on the school roll.

Hummersknott Academy was founded in 1955 as a girls’ high school and converted to academy status in 2012. In 2007, the school underwent an extensive £15 million regeneration project and in 2023 the Academy joined Advance Learning Partnership's family of schools.

The area of Hummersknott is located in the west of Darlington and has a population of around 3,500. Extensive facilities at the school include a dance studio, ceramics area, recording studio, swimming pool, sports hall and a 3G artificial football pitch.
