Priory is a very successful school with an excellent reputation. The school is consistently oversubscribed, yet has a genuinely comprehensive intake. The Governors seek to appoint a highly motivated and enthusiastic Teacher of Mathematics to cover maternity leave, for 0.6 FTE a week, within our friendly, supportive and conscientious Mathematics Curriculum Area of eight staff led by a Curriculum Leader, Deputy Curriculum Leader and an Assistant Curriculum Leader.

About Priory School

Priory School is a mixed state secondary situated in Lewes, East Sussex. The non-selective, non-denominational school has 1,140 pupils aged 11-16.

Priory School opened in 1969, combining Lewes County Grammar School for Girls, Lewes County Grammar School for Boys and Lewes Secondary Modern School into a comprehensive secondary. The school has excellent facilities including joint use of the athletics track, access to a 3G pitch , enhanced food rooms,  refurbished science labs as well as specialist dance, drama and arts rooms. The school offers excellent training and development opportunities for staff.
