Can you make a difference to the future lives of Glasgow's children? Glasgow City Council seeks to appoint a committed, and highly motivated, individual to work in the Maths department at St Thomas Aquinas RC Secondary. In addition to the range of teaching and other duties outlined in the job specification we are looking for individuals who enjoy working collegiately with colleagues, and who have with a firm commitment to improving the outcomes for Glasgow's young people.
Membership of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme will be essential on taking up appointment along with GTCS Registration. Please note successful candidates for the above position will be required to pay for their PVG Membership/or Scheme Checks.
In line with section 21(2A) of the Education (Scotland) Act 1980 the successful candidate for this post will require RC Approval.

St Thomas Aquinas Secondary School is a mixed, non-selective, Roman Catholic school, situated in the Jordanhill area in the West End of Glasgow. The school is a state comprehensive under the authority of Glasgow City Council. Smaller than the average school, the school will provide 950 places for secondary and sixth form students between the ages of 13-16, when fully subscribed.
The original school was established in 1958. The end of the 2001-2002 school year saw the original building demolished, but a new school building was completed in 2003 and opened to students in December 2004. The current headteacher took his post at the beginning of the 2006-2007 school year.
