A well-qualified, motivated and enthusiastic Teacher of Mathematics is required for September 2018, for a permanent contract. 

The thriving Mathematics Department is made up of 16 members of staff. We achieve consistently excellent results at GCSE, AS and A Level. The successful candidate will teach across all three key stages. In the 6th form, 45% of our students currently take Maths as an option and we currently offer both Maths and Further Maths A Levels. With such a large Maths department within a large school there are many opportunities for the successful applicant to take on extra responsibilities both within the department and the whole school. 

All applicants must have a track record of innovative Maths delivery and demonstrate a passion for Mathematics and the ability to inspire a love of learning. Experience of teaching A level is highly desirable.

George Abbot School is a large 11-18, mixed comprehensive, situated in the pleasant Burpham area of Guildford, within easy reach of the town, the A3 and London Road railway station. It is a forward looking and dynamic school which has a reputation for excellence in every area. George Abbot became an Academy on 1 July 2011 and went on to be a founding member of the GEP multi academy trust. We also have Teaching School status.

George Abbot School is a forward thinking academy providing an inclusive education, for around 2,000 young people, aged 11-18. We are located in Burpham, Guildford with good transport links to the surrounding area.
