Winchester College seeks to appoint a well-qualified, able and inspiring teacher of Mathematics. The successful candidate, who will teach throughout the school, will join a thriving Mathematics Department that has 13 teachers.

The school was founded by William of Wykeham, Bishop of Winchester, in 1382. Winchester College is a boys’ boarding school of 700 pupils. In 2022, the school will accept day pupils at 16+ years, both boys and girls; and girl boarders at 16+ years from 2024.

The school’s examination results are excellent. We offer a distinctive and rigorous curriculum, which is complemented by a very wide range of sports, music, art, drama and other co-curricular activities. T At all levels Winchester College encourages pupils to look beyond the curriculum. Div is our unique programme of general cultural studies and offers an excellent preparation for university study. In these lessons, pupils engage with a wide range of subjects, from English Literature to Ancient History to the History of Science. The successful candidate may be asked to teach Div.

Many of our full-time teachers act as tutors in one of the boarding houses, thereby making a significant contribution to the pastoral care of our pupils. In addition to this, it is hoped that the successful candidate will contribute in some capacity to our sports and co-curricular programme.

Situated in the heart of Winchester, there are few schools in the world which can claim to be as historic, distinguished and beautiful as Winchester College.
