Job overview

We are seeking a dynamic, well qualified graduate with a relevant degree to join the thriving Mathematics Department in our academically selective girls’ boarding school. The confidence and skills to teach all students from 11-18, including topics from the new A level syllabus, is essential. The ability to teach Further Mathematics would be an advantage but is not essential.

For the right candidate, a training programme leading to QTS would be available through School Direct. The enthusiasm to contribute to the life of our busy boarding school, both within and beyond the department, is important.

Benenden offers its own generous pay structure, responsibility allowances and benefits. All staff joining the school are eligible to apply for on-site accommodation.

Benenden is one of the leading boarding schools in Britain. We were founded in 1923 and are situated in 250 acres of attractive parkland in Kent. There are 525 girls in the school, aged 11-18. Benenden is at the forefront of girls’ education in the UK, with recent innovations including the Benenden Diploma, a bespoke curriculum for our youngest two year groups, and the Professional Skills Programme, teaching the Sixth Form skills for the workplace. We are an ambitious school, with recent developments including a state-of-the-art Science Centre and All-Weather Sports Pitch, and we are currently working to establish a new School Hall and Music School.
